IIFT Entrance Exam 2016

IIFT exam 2016 is the national level common entrance test conducted by the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) for admission to its MBA (International Business) program in New Delhi and Kolkata Campus. The IIFT entrance exam is one of the highly competitive exams in the country and thousands of students appear every year to take admission in the two year MBA (IB) program offered by the IIFT New Delhi and Kolkata. Here in this article we will mention complete details regarding IIFT 2016 Exam, Application Form, Eligibility Criteria, Exam Pattern and syllabus.

About IIFT

Indian Institute of Foreign Trade is the autonomous public business institutions established in the year 1963 by the Indian government to promote education in the field of foreign trade, international management. The IIFT is honored with the status of deemed university in the year 2002 by the UGC. The IIFT is ranked among the top 10 B-schools in India in terms of Infrastructure, facilities, placements and faculty ratio.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidates appearing for the IIFT entrance exam 2016 must read the below mentioned criteria as follows:
  • The candidate must have a bachelor degree from a recognized institution
  • The candidates appearing in the final year of graduation can also apply for the exam
  • There is no age limit to apply for the exam.

Application Form

The candidates interested in the IIFT application form 2016 can apply online from the official website of IIFT. The application process for the admission to the MBA (IB) for the session 2016-18 will commence from the 2nd week of July 2015 and will continue till 20th August 2015. The candidates can pay the application fees of Rs. 1550 for GEN/OBC candidates and 775 for SC/ST candidates and US$ 80 for foreign national students. The application fees can be paid using a Demand Draft or online by VISA/MASTER credit and debit card.

IIFT Important Dates

The candidates interested in the IIFT exam 2015, must check the below mentioned dates. All the dates mentioned below are tentative and may be changed by the exam conducting authorities anytime.
  • Application Form Available From: 2nd week of July, 2015
  • Last Date of Receipt of Application Form: 20th August 2015
  • Availability of admit card: 1st September 2015
  • IIFT Exam: 22nd November, 2015
  • IIFT Result 2016 : first week of January 2016
  • Start of the Session: July, 2016

 IIFT Exam Pattern

The candidates appearing for the IIFT 2015 exam, are advised to check the exam pattern as it will give the basic idea to the students about the exam like no. of questions, marking scheme, weightage of the questions asked in the exams etc. Below we have mentioned complete details regarding IIFT 2015 exam pattern.
The pattern of the IIFT exam changes every year so as per the previous year patter we have come up with the exam patter of the IIFT for the session 2015.
The question paper will be of objective type comprising of approx 125 questions. The question paper will be divided into 4 sections as mentioned below:
  • Quantitative Ability
  • Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning
  • Reading Comprehension and General Awareness
  • Verbal Ability
There is a separate marking scheme for every section and may change every year by the examination authority.
There is a provision of negative marking and candidates must remember that for every wrong answer 1/3rd marks allotted to the question will be deducted.

Admission procedure

The candidates on the basis of their written test are called for the GD and PI. On the basis of written test, GD and PI the candidates will be shortlisted for the MBA (IB) programs in IIFT, New Delhi and Kolkata.
