School of Management for
Infrastructure and Development, Bangalore
was founded in the year 2005.
The institute is an extension centre
of Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU). The college is situated in
Bangalore, known as the ‘garden city’ and also the ‘Silicon Valley’ of India.
The institute was established with
the objective of ensuring a steady supply of domain-ready techno-managerial
personnel for India’s infrastructure sector.
The college draws on the immense
experience of acclaimed academicians from premier management & technology
institutions as well as over two decades of development consulting experience
and associated professional network of the Centre for Symbiosis of Technology,
Environment & Management (STEM). The school has a distinguished faculty,
unique curriculum and pragmatic programs with academic, industry & employer
linkages.
Courses Offered:
- Post graduate Diploma in infrastructure Management (PGDIM)
- MBA in Infrastructure Management
The PGDIM comprises 12 Orientation,
Core & Competency Building Subjects and two Electives as also a 12-week
Corporate Exposure & Learning (CEL) internship. The CEL is envisaged as an
opportunity for every student to carry out a detailed analysis of one 'live
project'.
The first year of the MBA consists
of the same Orientation, Core & Competency Building Subjects and Electives
as the PGDIM. The second year of the MBA comprises four Compulsory Subjects and
three Electives. One special feature of the MBA is that it provides for
eight Elective specializations in areas of rapid growth IN THE INFRASTRUCTURE
SECTOR AS ALSO AN INTENSIVE IN-PLANT TRAINING COMPONENT.

MBA Degree in Infrastructure
Management Program, the first of its kind offers a unique scientifically
structured curriculum tailored to meet the demands of the infrastructure sector
as also to suit the aspirations of young professionals, without replicating the
efforts of existing schools of business management. The 2 year (MBA level)
comprises of four semesters.
