Shailesh J. Mehta School of
Management (SJMSOM) was founded in the year 1995 as an academic unit within
IITB providing management education.
The institute vision is to be the

Master
of Management program:
The School of Management through its
flagship Master of Management (M.Mgmt) program seeks to develop managers for an
integrated understanding of all business functions.
One unique feature[citation needed]
of the program is that apart from the regular courses on Finance, Marketing,
Operations and HR, SJMSOM prepares for technology management with core courses
like Technology Management. “Mission, Vision and Leadership”, an innovative
course to hone leadership skills, provides the students the opportunity to work
under the mentorship of distinguished Indian business leaders.
Management
Development Program for Executives:
The Management Development Programs
(MDPs) conducted by the School are aimed towards developing and maintaining a
strong interface with industry. They also enable the School to identify the
current trends in business processes.
Eligibility:
- The candidates securing a minimum aggregate of 60%
[CGPI = 6.5/10] over all the semesters of their Bachelor degree in
engineering (or equivalent) or Masters degree in Science (and first class
Bachelor degree) are eligible for admission to the Master of Management
Program. There is a relaxation of 5% in marks or equivalent in CGPI for
SC/ST candidates.
- Those appearing for the final degree examination can
also apply. The admission in such cases will be subject to their
fulfilling the minimum eligibility criteria.
Selection Procedure -
The prospective candidates are
required to appear for the Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by IIMs every
year. Please note that the Joint Management Entrance Test (JMET) is
discontinued from 2011. The candidates will be invited to appear for Written
Ability Test(WAT) and Personal Interview in the second week of March 2014 based
on their performance in CAT.
